When to apply brain stimulation to achieve learning acceleration

Abstract

Certain brain stimulation procedures and regimens have been shown to accelerate learning in certain tasks, and there is insufficient understanding of the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying these effects. We present the current state of our efforts to develop a computational cognitive model of a visual search task, attempting to explain why brain stimulation is sometimes more effective when applied early and other times when applied late in the skill acquisition process.
